This review is for the Stelle sun-protection cooling arm sleeves size Large in white.I have red hair and pale, sensitive skin. I’ve experienced countless sunburns. In my younger days. I was very active outdoors, spent much time on the beach, and foolishly tried to get tan when my skin only burned. Now in my 60s I’ve had several surgeries to remove cancerous spots located on my face, neck, chest, legs, and arms.I greatly regret not protecting myself from sunburns. Needless to say I wisened up too late. But for the last thirty years I’ve been doing everything I can to prevent sun exposure to my skin. I wear sunscreen, big wide-brimmed hats, UV protective sunglasses, and limit my outdoor activities to very early morning or late in the day.As for sunscreens my sensitive skin can only tolerate certain kinds. Then a few years ago I discovered UV protective clothing. Arm sleeves have been especially handy because on hot days I can wear a short sleeved shirt and easily remove the sleeves when in the shade or back inside. They are versatile and I can store them easily in my purse. Although they come in colors, I always wear white on hot sunny days because they are much cooler to wear than darker colors.I had a dilemma when ordering because there wasn’t a size chart to know which of the two sizes to get. I assumed the S/M was intended for the average woman’s arm and the Large a man’s. But people come in unlimited sizes and shapes so arm measurement parameters—to be measured around and above the bicep—would have been helpful.I ordered a Large thinking if they didn’t fit my female arms, they’d fit my son’s or husband’s.They arrived folded in a little pouch. They are made of a thin, slinky, stretchy, elastane material. There are thumb holes on the wrist end and I generally like those. They don’t have to be used but I appreciate having the option. They are well constructed with neat stitching on all the seams and hems. The upper arm hem has a clear silicone gripper to help keep it from sliding down the arm. It didn’t work in my case because the Large was indeed too big in circumference for my arms. It’s still been too cold where I live to use these long enough to know how well they block the sun but I assume they do—I’ve never had arm sleeves that didn’t prevent sunburn.I’m a senior living on a fixed income and a thrifty spender. These cost 9.99 at the time of ordering which is a fair price but I wouldn’t want to pay more than that.A size chart would help with ordering the correct size but all in all a good product and price.
