Neither is better; it depends on the dancer’s needs. Attached skirts are ideal for younger children because they are easier to put on and won't get lost. Separate skirts are better for older students as they allow teachers to clearly see hip alignment and body form.

If a tutu looks flat or droopy, it usually just needs a little reshaping.

Gently separate and fluff each layer of tulle by hand, lifting the layers to restore volume. You can also lightly shake the skirt to help the layers fall back into place. If needed, hang the tutu in a humid area (like a bathroom after a shower) or use a low, indirect steam to help the tulle regain its shape.

Avoid using high heat or ironing, as this can damage the fabric. With a bit of fluffing and proper care, most tutus can easily regain their full, bouncy look.
